Are you sure his intentions were good? When is it good to kill someone? It is a difficult decision to make? Deciding whether or not he is a tragic hero? You have to think about what one is and then think about all the things he did before you make your decision. As you have indicated, you need to do some more reading. Are you understanding the play some more now? I am glad that you are enjoying the presentations. You have some good observations about how technology is impacting us too.:)

Tragic Hero

Im my opinion, i am not quite sure if Macbeth is a tragic hero. His actions were terrible however his intentions were good. Macbeth really wanted to have power and decide to do everything to gain it, it got in and over his head that it erased the wrongs and rights that he knew. I must do alot of reaserach and read points from various websites to decide if Macbeth is a tradgic hero. After doing a little bit of reaseach, i have decided that Macbeth is a tragic hero indeed, he is not a bad person but he just had many tradgic flaws

Presentations

I thought the presentations were really interesting, I enjoyed the video clips that 2 groups acted out, it was really funny however a bit inappropriate. The presentations were very creative, many groups used technology.IT was different this time because i guess you involved the class with technology with blogging and that technology was a suggestion given out that we could use for this project, that everyone decided to chose it because no many people have tried it before. Using technology in presenting our parts of the scenes was a succes, everyone seemed more organized and interested.

How does power corrupt?

Power may corrupt one's mind, it changes one in many negative ways. Power makes one make bad decisions and take part in bad actions. Macbeth was corrupted by power and ambition, he wanted to have power so badly he killed King Duncan and felt guilty of his crimes and wrong doings. However, it did not stop him , he still decided to go through with his plans. Macbeth was so set on having power that it ruined his life, he was willing to do everything he could to empower but in the end he ended up dead. Power corrupts one because it changes ones decisions, actions and behaviors.

What could destroy or build a person's self worth?

Power can destroy ones self worthiness if you one is not open minded. One's self worth has something to with respecting oneself and being oneself while not letting anything or anyone get in the way of taking over your actions. Self worth can be destroyed by not respecting oneself letting something get in over your head, not in control of your actions and your mind allowing one to make bad decisions for something you want. For example, macbeth killing and lying , making Lady Macbeth die because of wrongs he did himself. Self worthiness can be built by being incontrol of one's life, knowing what you can and cannot do for somethings you want. Self worthiness is important to be successful

Today i got a clearer understanding of tragic heroes of macbeth and the definition of a tragic hero. I saw very many clips on youtube on Macbeth which made me understand it very well.I looked for a few verses in Macbeth which was very interesting. This Tragic hero project is not really working for me because i think our project is harder then the other people in our class because its more complicated and id rather do a verse. This process is working for me because i love working as a group because i can hear everyone's opinions and ideas which helps with my thinking. However working in the computer room doesn't work for me because i get side tracked.

Hi,
You have observed so many things. How true, when an author writes we can pick up so many more details then when we watch a movie. ALso what other influences do you think happen when we see the movie version?

I see you also have a goal in mind for what you desire most. You sound pretty determined. I wish you luck. How do you think you could integrate your desire and talent into this unit? I am wondering if there is a way.
Anyhow, Macbeth is an interesting play and although it can be challenging there are many sources available to making reading it quite enjoyable.

Clearer vision of Macbeth -Oct9

After watching the clip, i now know that Macbeth is the main character of "The tragedy of Macbeth" and Lady macbeth is the second. I understand that the story is a horror movie that back int he day people did not like to talk about. The scenes are very violent and the it allows others to read the Characters personalities very well.

What is it i desire the most? -Oct.16

There are many things i desire, and having to narrow it down to one is difficult! In my opinion, the thing i desire the most will deffinately be becoming a popular fashion designer, to make it to the top. I will do absolutely everything it takes to become a fashion designer in the future. I have already applied for ryerson university in ontario and am currently taking 2 fine art programs. To describe what i mean by "whatever", i mean moving to a big city such as new york or LA after i graduate, somewhere that is very busy to start a business, stay up all night drawing sketches, reading a million books on fashion design. Seriously whatever it takes for me to be a fashion designed as famous as Coco Chanel.I'm going to move to a big city and chase my dream.

Macbeth

Macbeth Scene 1

The differences you saw between the movie and reading scenes one, two and three. What was easier and why? And what was more challenging and why? which one do you tink you prefer and why?
I read the first two scenes of the book and didn't understand it. The differences between the book and the movie was that the book had more details describing what was happening, and the movie left out little details. In my opinion, i prefer the book better because it had more details but it takes more time.

What is Macbeth?

I have never heard of the play "Macbeth". I have never been taught about this play. However, Ive heard lots about Shakespeare and his book last year we learned about"the midnights dream".In addition, i have also learned about "Romeo and Juliette", a famous love story about the two being separated because their families do not get along. I know Shakespeare has many well known plays and poems.I do not like learning about Shakespeare because it does not interest me.Last year my previous teacher summarized Shakespeare's history but i do not remember it anymore.

How very observant about people being bossy. It does have to do with power. Do you ever think though that they may want that power because they are insecure? Your thought s and observations are very meaningful and realistic. It is interesting how terms we hear and use every day can mean so many things.

What did we learn today that stood out?

I found thursdays class very productive, i learned that their are more than one meaning of having power, ambition, self worth, integrity, loyalty, and humanity. I learned many things that i thought was important and stood out, power really stood out for me. There are many times were i ask myself how someone can be so bossy, self centered and how they got so full of themselves. I find it absolutely true that it comes from power. In my opinion, the things that one can do when one has power is terrifying, when power is not in the right hands, it affects people in bad ways. I can relate to power because i have seen others bully others, just because they can and it makes them feel like they are on top on the world. When one gets too much power, they become abducted. When having too much power, one seems to think the world orbites around them and the closest people around one will start to think you are no longer the same person and they will act fake towards you. They will pretend to be nice because talk behind your back about how you've changed alot or perhaps they are scared of you.
